Five principal guidelines that were given to us by Dr. Mikao Usui. This is the one that I learned in my Reiki practice, though there are other ones for different traditions. These alternate versions come from different translations of the Japanese text, or by modification of other translated text to make them more suitable for certain practitioners. Though they may be written differently most of the time they are fundamentally the same, and reflect the same understandings.
