The athame, and boline are ritualistic tools that have been used in many different forms of magickal practices. These magick tools originate from ceremonial magick practices which was later adopted into Wicca, Neo-wicca and Neo-paganism, along with other forms of practices.
An athame is a ceremonial blade that traditionally has double edged blade, and has a black handle. It is primarily used for directing energy during ritual, and it is also associated with the elements of air, and/or fire.
A boline is a ceremonial blade that traditionally has a curved crescent-shaped blade, and has a white handle. It is primarily used for harvesting herbs, and cutting cords in, and for magickal workings.
